DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University baseball announced its 2026 schedule, its first under former assistant and now head coach Billy McLaughlin. 

The Cougars begin the season with four straight games at the Owen-Fulton Field confines, the first of which being against Christopher Newport University on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. Averett then hosts Hood College for three games from Feb. 15 to Feb. 15.

"We are excited for our schedule this year, with a competitive non-conference scheduled that will get us prepared for ODAC play to begin," McLaughlin noted. "The ODAC is a gauntlet and we will have to be ready to play tough opponents every week."

The Cougars host their ODAC doubleheader opening series versus Hampden-Sydney College on Saturday, March 7, and head away for their first road conference contests the very next weekend against Washington and Lee University on March 14. 

Averett closes the regular season with a road doubleheader at Eastern Mennonite University on Aor. 26. The ODAC tournament begins on May 1, with the top four seeds in the conference hosting a best-of-three series.
