SALEM, Va. — Averett University's women's soccer team traveled to face Roanoke College on Wednesday night, falling 7-0 to the Maroons in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.
Averett (0-11-0, 0-8 ODAC) was led by senior goalkeeper Krista Hinebaugh, who delivered an impressive performance between the posts with 19 saves. Hinebaugh's effort tied her career high, which she previously established a week and a half ago against Randolph-Macon College.
Roanoke (7-5-4, 4-2-2 ODAC) found the back of the net three times in the opening half to take control of the contest. The Maroons maintained their offensive pressure after the break, adding four more goals in the second half to secure the victory.
The Cougars will return home Saturday, Oct. 24, to host No. 16 Batten University in their final home game of the 2026 season.Â
