DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's golf completed the first two rounds of the three-round Oglethorpe University Invitational on Monday, finishing tied for 19th as a team.
Junior
Benjamin Afzelius was the highest-placed Cougar, sitting tied for 15th heading into Tuesday's final round.
Afzelius carded a 1-under total after shooting even par in the second round. Afzelius will enter the third round just three strokes outside the top 10.
Sophomore
Nicolas Santoso finished the day in 87th place. Santoso carded a 7-over total through the first two rounds.
Oglethorpe University finished the day at 20-under and in first place in the tournament.
Jacob Foti of Christopher Newport University was the individual leader at 7-under.
Averett will return Tuesday for the final round of the Oglethorpe University Invitational.
