FOREST, Va. – Averett University men's basketball sophomores
Jackson Sellars and
Mason Mitchell were named to the 2025-26 ODAC All-Conference Team, the league announced Thursday.
Sellars, a guard from Greensboro, North Carolina, was selected to the Second Team following a career-year. Sellars upped his scoring by nearly four ticks to 14.8, which led the Cougars, and was eighth-best in the conference. He also finished with a rebounding average of 6.2 per contest, which ranked seventh in the ODAC; had the league's seventh-best field-goal percentage at .488, was tied-sixth in total blocks with 17 and tied-seventh in steals per game with 1.4. Among other statistics, Sellers' 119 free throws made were third, and his 2.44 offensive rebounds per game was fifth-best.
This season, Sellars broke through for a career-high 35 points versus Greensboro on Nov. 14, 2025, which ranked as the ODAC's fourth-highest scoring output from any individual player in 2025-26. His 14 made field goals in that contest were the second-best in that regard, as well.
Mitchell, a guard/forward from Charlotte, North Carolina, was named to the Third Team after increasing his scoring output from 8.6 the season before to 11.6 points per game in 2025-26, third on the team and a top-20 mark in the conference, along with being 19th in rebounds per game with 5.0. Mitchell's prowess was best known beyond the arc, as he was fifth in the ODAC in three-point field goal percentage at a .397 clip, while his 54 makes were sixth. Mitchell's long shots per game mark also impressed, as his 2.1 a game ranked tied-seventh.
In this campaign, Mitchell scored a new-career high 27 versus Warren Wilson on Dec. 10, 2025, in which he made six threes that game. Mitchell also was previously named ODAC offensive player of the week on Dec. 16, 2025.
Sellers and Mitchell join
Jamison Graves from last year as previous All-ODAC selections for Averett. The Cougars' multiple All-ODAC honors mark the first time since the 2016-17 season where the team had multiple all-conference selections in Charles Bryant and James Contreras Jr.
