ASHLAND, Va. – No. 36 Averett University men's tennis got a resounding first ODAC win of 2026 with a 7-0 sweep at Randolph-Macon College on Saturday afternoon.
Averett (1-2, 1-0 ODAC) zoomed its way through doubles first, collectively with only a game dropped amongst the three duos in action.
The Cougars then handled Randolph-Macon (1-4, 0-3 ODAC) in singles, with the third through sixth singles players all winning their matches, 6-0, 6-0. No. 1 singles
Satwik Kollepalli had the toughest test versus Yellow Jacket John Paul Zano, but came out victorious 6-4, 6-1.
Florian Bert got the nod at No. 2, and won 6-1, 6-1 versus Evan Holzmacher.
Averett makes its home debut tomorrow afternoon with a date versus Division-II and former conference opponent Ferrum College at the Averett Tennis Courts. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
