Baseball falls to Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Averett University baseball dropped Sunday's series finale against Pfeiffer University.

Averett (4-6) fell behind Pfeiffer (3-7) in the first inning as the Falcons took a wire-to-wire victory over the Cougars. Pfeiffer scored four runs in the first, and added four more over the game's final eight innings en route to the series victory over Averett.

Juniors Drew Skinner and Tyler Lowe were the bright spots in the contest for the Cougars, as they tied for the team lead with two hits each. 

Averett's next opportunity comes on home turf, as the Cougars will host No. 22 Christopher Newport University on Tuesday, March 3, at 2 p.m.
