DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University men's basketball sophomore Zach Skogen, for his accomplishments both on the court and in the classroom, was named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District distinction from the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.

Skogen, a forward from Asheville, North Carolina, started all 26 games for Averett in 2025-26. He averaged 4.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and scored a season-high 13 points on Jan. 28 versus Washington and Lee.

Skogen becomes the first Cougar men's basketball players to earn Academic All-District honors in recorded history, dating back to 2001-02.
