DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University women's tennis picked up its fifth win on the bounce on Thursday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts, as it defeated Roanoke College 7-0.
Doubles was won all by Averett (7-2, 5-1 ODAC), as it took the three matches from Roanoke (4-8, 1-4 ODAC) with just three combined games lost amongst the three trios. Most resounding was senior
Elisa Battermann and junior
Dilara Sultanova's 6-0 win at the first slot.
The sweep extended over the singles. Junior
Siddhi Khot and sophomore
Sunna Maass each won their 10th matches of the season in the process.
Ana Herrera capped off a brilliant day with a 6-0, 6-1 win versus the Maroons' Samantha Cox.
The Cougars begin an extended road trip next, first with a drive down to Charlotte, North Carolina to battle Division-II Johnson C. Smith University on Tuesday, March 31. Start time is set for 3:30 p.m.
