PINEHURST, N.C. – Averett University men's golf concluded the first two rounds of the Hampden-Sydney Tiger Invitational at Forest Creek Golf Course. The Cougars shot a collective 36-over-par 576.
In the team lead was freshman
Chase Myers, who ended the first day one-over, and 38th individually. Freshman
Lukas Newton was a plus-nine in 70th place, while sophomores
Zach Alway and
Benjamin Afzelius finished in 84th and 89th, respectively.
11th-ranked Methodist tops the talented pool with a team score of nine-under par, while Emory's Kevin Mu sits ahead of the pack with a score of seven-under.
Averett finishes the remainder of the Tiger Invitational with a 9 a.m. tee time tomorrow morning.
