DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University baseball represented well on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Baseball Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, as senior Luke Keister, junior Drew Skinner and sophomores Ean Amerson, Nathan Michalowicz and Corbin Mickle were named with the set academic and athletic requirements.

Keister, an infielder from Harrisonburg, Virginia, settled right into Averett's lineup after transferring from in-conference foe Shenandoah. The sports administration major batted .302 and was third on the hits with 42. He recorded a season-high three hits versus Johnson & Wales (N.C.) on Apr. 21.

Skinner, an infielder from South Riding, Virginia, earned his second straight All-District honor. The business major hit .282 with a .446 on-base percentage in 117 at-bats, with 33 hits, seven doubles, 16 RBIs, and 17 runs scored. 

Amerson, a pitcher from Calloway, Virginia, was the workhorse out of the Cougar rotation, as he pitched the most innings with 52.0. The business marketing major fanned 37 batters across the season, with a career-high seven strikeouts against Hampden-Sydney on March 7. Also in 2026, Amerson went a career-best eight inning with just one earned run allowed versus Virginia Wesleyan on Apr. 3.

Michalowicz, an infielder from Emerald Isle, North Carolina, broke out as a mainstay in 2026 with 31 starts in his sophomore campaign. The sports administration major batted .280 with 26 hits and 22 runs scored, with a .430 on-base percentage. 

Mickle, a pitcher from Charlotte, North Carolina, appeared in 15 games as a starter and reliever for Averett, as he went 2-2 in 36.0 innings pitched. The aviation and flight operations major posted one save and 21 strikeouts, and had a season-best outing against Hampden-Sydney on March 7. In that contest, Mickle pitched a quality start with 6.1 innings with six strikeouts.

This marks the first selections for head coach Billy McLaughlin, and brings the program's All-District tally to 11.
