MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Averett University fell behind early in an 11-1 non-conference loss to Pfeiffer University on Saturday at Lefko-Mills Field.
The Falcons (2-0) gained the upper hand by scoring eight unanswered goals to open the match. Wesley Hooker led Pfeiffer with four goals.
Averett (0-2) freshman
Christian Evans scored his first collegiate goal in the second half, accounting for the Cougars' lone goal. Evans finished with two shots on goal.
Junior forwards Marek Handscom and
Moses Kashindi also recorded shots for the Cougars.

Ryan Barnes made six saves in the first half, before
Nicholas Dinoia took over in net in the second half.
Averett returns home to face Greensboro College at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in another non-conference matchup at Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
