How Averett helped me:
"Being a student-athlete at Averett University helped me develop the leadership skills I use every day as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Over the course of my four years there, Coach Doino and my teammates helped me become more confident in my game, but also off the court in my academics. As a team captain, I had to make quick decisions that could win or lose a game. This has helped me greatly in my career, because as an officer, I have to make quick decisions often regarding the Marines I am responsible for."
