Day Camps: $60 for one, $55 each for two, $50 each for 3, $180 for all four. (Come to two or more and receive a camp gift. Lunch provided each day.)
Building Your Base: This camp is for any and all age groups that want to work on Ball Control. Whether you are a beginner or a three-year varsity player with three courts this camp will challenge you to improve your skills of forearm and overheard passing and digging. We will be able to challenge any level and make you a better player.
Being Able to Score: You want to learn how to hit or to maximize your hitting then this is the day to do it. We will have the setters on one court working on their skills and different sets and the hitters will be split up by position to work on their approach, arm swing and learning different shots. In the afternoon we will bring the two together and work on hitting off of a live set and develop a better and more diverse skill set.
Â
Next Level Play: Bring the game to the next level. Instead of performing one skill at a time we want you to be able to move from one skill to the next. The key to volleyball is transitioning from one part of the game to the next. Reading the situation and anticipating the next play. We will work on total transition, defensive movements and offensive movements. Become a complete player. This is working towards the game situations where you develop court awareness.
Lunch will be served during camp.
Â
Bringing It All Together: Bringing it all together, that’s what this camp is about. Being able to go from offense to defense, strategies of playing the game and knowing what you want to achieve. This day will be all about playing the game. Understanding what you want to do and how to accomplish your goals. This is about scrimmaging and learning how to play as a complete player.
Lunch will be served during camp.
Â
Volleyball College Prep Camp: This camp is for players who have at least one year of varsity level play and have played on a club travel team. This camp is not for the faint of heart. We will challenge you and push you to your limits. We want to give you a taste of playing at the next level. If you do not have a firm grasp of your fundamentals, then this camp is not for you. It is not about age it is about being able to play the game at a high level. We should be fine-tuning your skills, not teaching you the fundamentals. You need to be able to handle the speed and pace of a college game.
Camp information: The camp is held at the Grant Center on Averett’s North Campus. Three volleyball courts are available, allowing for more instruction. Male and female campers are welcome.
Director: Averett coach Danny Miller, who has been named the state and conference coach of the year multiple times, is a proven teacher of the game. He has led his team to more than 500 wins, 15 conference titles and several NCAA Tournament appearances. Current Averett players will serve as counselors.
