Todd Blanton returned to the Averett University esports program as an assistant coach in July 2022. Previously, he served as the esports manager from December 2019 until May 2022.
Blanton, a 2013 graduate of Averett, returned to his alma mater in 2017 and currently serves as the technical director and audio engineer for Averett’s Theatre Department.
A native of Earl, North Carolina, Blanton began playing in competitive esports gaming leagues in 2005 and is a former Championship Gaming Series player. He originally was recruited to Averett to play football.
Blanton has been a part of more than 60 professional theatre productions and two national tours. He also has built three exhibits for the Smithsonian.
Blanton earned his bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Averett in 2013.
