Zac Zanotti has been Averett's defensive line coach since joining the staff in 2009. He was one of 30 coaches in the country selected to participate in the 2011 NCAA Future Coaches Academy at the American Football Coaches Association's national convention in Dallas, Texas.
Before coming to Averett, he coached defensive backs and long snappers at his alma mater, Alma College in Alma, Mich.
Zanotti played for Alma College, where he started for three years at defensive end and long snapper under coach Jim Cole. He was selected to the All-MIAA team in 2007, was named Alma’s defensive MVP and was a four-year letter winner.
Zanotti graduated from Alma in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in education with a major in history and a minor in math. While coaching at Averett he will be pursuing a Master’s in business administration.
He currently reside in Danville, Va.
