Joe Casedonte

Joe Casedonte joined the Averett University Sports Medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer in July 2021.

A native of North Olmsted, Ohio, Casedonte earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science and sports management from Wittenberg University in 2018 and completed his master of science degree in athletic training from High Point University in May 2021. He gained clinical experience with NCAA Division I programs working with the University of North Carolina's softball and swimming and diving teams during the spring of 2021, and he worked with High Point's men's soccer, women's golf, men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball teams from July 2020 to December 2020. Casedonte also worked with Greensboro College's men's lacrosse, High Point Central High School's athletics programs and Novant Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. He also served as a sports medicine intern at Wittenberg.

Casedonte was involved with the Athletic Training Club at High Point, where he was interim vice president before serving as president. He also was vice president of the Delta Tau Delta Iota chapter at Wittenberg. Casedonte was a letter winner and senior captain of the Wittenberg swimming and diving team.

Casedonte is an NATA member, BOC certified and First Aid/CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross.
