Matt Stolz joined the Averett University volleyball program as an assistant coach in June 2017.
Stolz came to Averett following a four-year collegiate men's volleyball career at Lakeland University. The Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, native owns Lakeland's career kills record with 895, and he received All-Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League First Team honors in each of his final two seasons with the Muskies. He also earned academic all-conference honors multiple times.
In addition to his playing career, Stolz served as the girls' junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach at Howards Grove High School from 2014-2015 and coached youth volleyball from 2010-2012.
Stolz earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Lakeland in 2017. He is pursuing his master's degree in business administration from Averett.
