Leslie Waller began working at Averett in 2015 as an adjunct faculty member before becoming an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing in 2017. Waller received his registered nursing diploma from The Memorial Hospital School of Nursing here in Danville. From there, he went on to attain his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Master of Science in Nursing Education from Old Dominion University. Originally from Flint, Michigan, Waller has been a Danville resident since 1982.
Waller started wrestling in elementary school in Flint and continued through high school, participating in freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestling.
He is the father of three daughters and one son and enjoys spending his free time with his 15 grandchildren.
