J.C. Barry joined the Averett University baseball coaching staff in fall 2025 after finishing his playing career for the Cougars.

A catcher, Barry transferred to Averett for the 2025 season and appeared in 25 games, making 25 starts. He posted a .300 batting average and a .345 on-base percentage over 100 at-bats, collected 30 hits, including four doubles and one home run, with 20 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He previously played at East Texas Baptist University.

A native of Katy, Texas, Barry is pursuing his degree in sports administration from Averett.
