Men's tennis freshman Jorge Figueroa was selected as the USA South Conference Rookie of the Week on March 2. A native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Figueroa went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles last weekend for the Cougars. In singles, Figueroa defeated opponents from Randolph College and Virginia Wesleyan University while teaming with junior Stan Martherus to collect the two doubles wins. It's the second weekly honor for Figueroa after he and Matherus were named the USA South Doubles Team of the Week on Feb. 24.
