Box ScoreDANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis team crushed Greensboro College 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts. The victory gave the Cougars back-to-back dominant wins as they defeated Mary Baldwin College 8-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Felix Mann has been impressed with the camaraderie the team has displayed during the winning-streak.
"The girls are coming together and helping each other push through tough matches," Mann said. "It's really great to see."
Freshman

Katie Abelseth started things off right for Averett (3-7, 2-4 USA South), winning the No. 1 doubles match 8-5. Sophomores
Riley Smith and
Annalies Jobsis continued the streak for the Cougars, taking the No. 2 doubles match 8-5.
Mattson also led off singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the No. 1 singles match against Greensboro's Ashley Spivey. Junior
Jessie Gomes dispatched of the Pride's Margaret Dubey 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles spot. Smith took the No. 3 singles contest 6-2, 6-4, and Abelseth trumped Kathryn Roper 7-5, 6-1 in the No. 4 slot to continue Averett's winning ways on the afternoon. Jobsis finished off the day for the Cougars with a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the No. 5 spot to finish off Greensboro (0-4, 0-4 USA South).
The Cougars take the court again on March 27 when they travel to West Point, Georgia, to take on Point University at 1 p.m.
