DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis team came up short in a 9-0 loss to Lees-McRae College on Thursday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.
 
Averett went into singles play facing a three-match deficit after Lees-McCrae picked up a trio of victories in doubles action.  
 
The Cougars continued to struggle in singles play as the Bobcats rattled off six consecutive wins to sweep Averett in non-conference action.
 
Averett returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Emory & Henry College at 1 p.m.
