DANVILLE, Va. – Methodist University defeated the Averett University women's tennis team 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.
 
Freshman Heidi Sarkkinen swung past Isabella Graf with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the No. 1 spot to remain undefeated in singles action for Averett (2-10, 0-7 USA South). She also earned a win in doubles with sophomore Hannah Mattson. The duo beat Graf and Sam Munze 8-6.
 
Averett returns to action on Saturday, April 2, to host Ferrum College at 11 a.m.
