EMORY, Va. — Averett University men's tennis swept Emory & Henry College 9-0 in a fall non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
 
After taking all three doubles matches handily, Averett (1-0) clinched the match officially with a No. 1 singles victory by senior Carlos Lora, who beat Matt Kennedy 6-2, 6-1. Freshmen Henry Blanco, Simon Levinsson and Douwe Sternfeld, along with sophomore Mathias Reusch each had straight-set wins in singles. Sophomore Jon Smith also earned a win at No. 6 singles.
