RALEIGH, N.C. — The Averett University men's tennis team beat William Peace University 9-0 in a conference match on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Junior James Wright and partner freshman Nicolas Yanes picked up there 8-1 in the No.1 spot to get Averett (8-4, 5-2 USA South) off to the wining pace to complete with three wins in doubles play. The Cougars later dominated singles play with six wins. Freshman Caius Blomqvist and sophomore Abdugani Ganiev each won their matches 6-0, 6-0 at No.1 and No.4, respectively.
 
Averett returns to action March 31, when it goes on the road to play non-conference Virginia Wesleyan College in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
