The Averett University softball team begins play at the USA South Conference Tournament in LaGrange, Georgia, on Thursday when the East No. 2 seed Cougars face West No. 3 seed Huntingdon College at 10 a.m. at the Shuford Softball Complex.
Live stats will be available for the game. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for senior citizens, students, children and faculty/staff.
The winner will advance to play West No. 6 seed Maryville College at 2 p.m. on Thursday, while the loser will face elimination on Friday at 10 a.m.
Averett (24-18) advanced to the double-elimination round of the USA South Tournament after sweeping Greensboro College in the best-of-three series in the opening round last weekend. Huntingdon (17-24) edged Covenant College 2-1 in its three-game series to advance.
