The Series: Virginia Wesleyan holds a 28-11 advantage in the all-time series. Averett, however, snapped a four-game skid against the Marlins last season with a 63-59 win in Virginia Beach on Dec. 6, 2017. Averett's last home win over Virginia Wesleyan was on Dec. 3, 2008, when the Cougars knocked off the Marlins in the Grant Center when Virginia Wesleyan was ranked No. 1 in the country.
