Men's tennis drops Sunday matinee at N.C. Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Averett University men's tennis team lost 9-0 at N.C. Wesleyan College on Sunday.
 
N.C. Wesleyan (9-3, 4-0 USA South) won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead heading into the singles matches. The Bishops would go on to win all six singles matches in straight sets, despite a tightly contested match at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Nicolas Yanes nearly took set one from Sebastian Sikh, but Sikh was able to hold on in a tiebreaker, 7-6, before winning the match in set two, 6-1.
 
Averett (5-3, 2-2 USA South) travels to play Greensboro College on Wednesday at 12 p.m.
