Men's tennis snags road sweep at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Averett University men's tennis team shut out Greensboro College 9-0 in USA South Conference action on Sunday morning.
 
Averett (12-5, 7-3 USA South) took a 3-0 lead in doubles play with two 8-0 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, wining the third match by default. Later on, junior Abdugani Ganiev led the Cougars in singles wins at the No.1 spot defeating his opponent 6-0,6-1. In No. 6 singles, sophomore Jon Smith would snag the final win for the Cougars after coming out on top 6-1, 6-1.
 
Averett makes its way back to the tennis courts on Sunday afternoon to host N.C. Wesleyan College at 3 p.m.
