Football adds Warren to coaching staff as assistant

DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University football head coach Cleive Adams announced the addition of Don Warren to his coaching staff on Thursday. Warren, who played at Averett, will coach the defensive ends.

Warren, a native of Indian Trail, North Carolina, played four seasons with the Cougars on the defensive line. Warren totaled 125 career tackles with 25 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. He also had one interception, one fumble forced and one fumble recovery, along with one blocked kick. In the classroom, Warren earned USA South Academic All-Conference honors.

In addition to his playing experience, Warren has helped coach at Averett's prospects camp.

Warren graduated from Averett in May 2018 with a degree in physical education. He is currently pursuing his master's of education degree at Averett.
