DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's wrestling head coach
Blake Roulo announced Friday the addition of
Patrick Davis as an assistant coach with the program.
A two-time Delaware state champion in high school, Davis wrestled collegiately at Division I George Mason University for three-plus seasons after transferring from Division I North Carolina State University, where he began his career. While at George Mason, Davis finished third at the Eastern Wrestling League's conference tournament in 2015 and 2016. He also placed third in his weight class at the Navy Classic Invitational and the Lockhaven Invitational. During his time at N.C. State, he finished fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. Off the mat, Davis twice earned EWL Academic All-Conference honors.
In addition to competing, Davis has coached at the club and high school levels. He served as an assistant coach at Woodbridge High School in his hometown of Bridgeville, Delaware, in 2013 and 2018. He also was an assistant coach for NOVA Wrestling Club in Vienna, Virginia in 2017.
Davis graduated from George Mason in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in sport management. He's currently pursuing his master of business administration from Averett.
