SALEM, Va. — The Averett University cross country team competed at the Roanoke College XC Invitational at Green Hill Park on Friday evening.
Junior
Rebekah Chase turned in the Cougars top time in the women's 6K with a time of 30:07.6, while senior
Jahdayna Samuels posted a time of 31:12.0.
Senior
Kayla Sisco completed Averett's showing with a mark of 36:38.2.
On the men's side in the 8k event the Cougars finished ninth place overall as sophomore
Anthony Ponce-Mexicano finished 11th with a time of 28:33.9, while freshman
Mason Barrett turned in a mark of 31:46.1.
Senior
Michael Nichols posted a time of 32:41.4 and sophomore
Alex Logsdon turned in a mark of 34:52.8, while sophomore
Olli Karjalainen capped off Averett's run with a 37:32.1 time.
The Cougars return back to the course on Oct. 30 when they travel to Rocky Mount, North Carolina for the USA South Conference Championships hosted by N.C. Wesleyan College.
