ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Averett University cross country team competed at the 2021 USA South Conference Championship on Saturday hosted by N.C. Wesleyan University.
In the men's 8k sophomore
Anthony Ponce-Mexicano finished 23rd overall with a time of 27:45.91, while sophomore
Alex Logsdon finished with a time of 31:58.90 finishing just ahead of senior
Joseph Jones who recorded a time of 32:18.58.
Senior
Michael Nichols turned in a 33:19.44 and sophomore
Olli Karjalainen completed the Cougars 10th place finish with a 37:15.48.
In the women's 6k junior
Rebekah Chase recorded Averett's top time of 30:20.86, while senior
Jahdayna Samuels turned in a mark of 31:13.02.
Senior
Kayla Sisco posted a 36:56.81 and junior
Ashley Navarro completed the Cougars showing on Saturday.
Averett returns to the course on Nov. 13 when it travels to Spartanburg, South Carolina for the NCAA South/Southeast Regionals.
