DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University's football team, along with members of the Department of Athletics staff, helped set up for the mass vaccinations that will be taking place over the next few months, beginning Friday.
Averett's football student-athletes helped on Tuesday morning by moving and placing tables, chairs and cabinets at the Danville Mall in the space formerly occupied by J.C. Penney. The Cougars combined for 70 hours of community service. Meanwhile,

Emma Olsson and
Drew Bailey from athletics helped plan, operationalize and implement the site for city officials, Danville and Pittsylvania County heath officials, SOVAH Health and others who are helping vaccinate thousands of people.
