DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University football senior
Tristin Quick was named to the 2020-21 D3football.com All-America First Team at special teams, the organization announced Monday.
Quick, a defensive end from Charlotte, North Carolina, had a solid shortened campaign while playing special teams. This spring, he blocked a field goal attempt and also returned a failed two-point conversion attempt for two points late in the game at N.C. Wesleyan College to help seal the win. He earned a spot on D3football.com's Team of the Week on March 30 for the latter.
For his play at defensive end, Quick also was named to the 2020-21 USA South All-Conference East Division First Team and 2020-21 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID)Â College Division All-State Second Team. He started all four games and made 21 total tackles, including four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks for a loss of 30 yards. He also led the Cougars with three quarterback hurries in addition to his special teams highlights
Quick is the fifth postseason selection to the D3football.com All-America Team in program history.
