ROME, Ga. — Averett University women's soccer freshman Celia de Diego was named the USA South Conference's Rookie of the Week on Monday. It's the second time in three weeks that she has received the conference's weekly honor.

The forward from Vallodolid, Spain, scored twice with one assist in a 1-1 week for the Cougars. In a 3-1 win over Randolph College, de Diego assisted on the game-tying goal in the 53rd minute before scoring the eventual game-winning goal in the 59th minute. In a 4-1 loss to Bob Jones University, de Diego notched the lone goal for her team.
