CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Averett University cross country team competed in the Queen City Invitational on Friday afternoon hosted by Queens University.
Sophomore
Anthony Ponce-Mexicano turned in the Cougars top time in the men's 8k finishing with a time of 27:33.08, while senior
Michael Nichols posting a showing of 30:49.43.
On the women's side senior
Jahdayna Samuels paced Averett with a time of 25:19.97 and junior
Rebekah Chase finished with a time of 26:46.34.
Senior
Kayla Sisco and junior
Ashley Navarro concluded the Cougars showing at the Queen City Invitation with times of 31:20.38 and 35:25.76, respectively.
Averett returns back to the course on Saturday, Oct. 2 when it competes in the Hagan Stone Classic in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina.
