ROME, Ga. — Averett University women's soccer freshman Celia de Diego was named the USA South Conference's Rookie of the Week on Monday following a stellar start to her collegiate career.

The forward from Vallodolid, Spain, has accounted for all the goals scored by the Cougars this year, with four in a 1-1 week for Averett. In a 3-0 win over Ferrum College, de Diego notched her first hat trick by scoring all three of the Cougars' goals, including the eventual game-winner in the 31st minute. In an 8-1 loss to Carroll University, de Diego finished the game's scoring by getting Averett on the board in the 86th minute.
