Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. — The Averett University women's tennis program dropped a tough away match against Division II Shaw University 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The match was played with Division II rules and Averett (1-1) saw freshman
Maxence Lippens pick up a win at No. 1 singles.
Shaw (1-1) took four of the singles matches.
Averett picked up two wins in doubles action with one coming from the freshman and senior duo of
Megan Lombardt and
Inka Zeilstra winning 7-5. Also winning 7-5, was junior
Alejandra Garcia and freshman
Keira Gunning.
The Cougars are back in action Sunday, March 13, when they travel to the University of Mary Washington at 1 p.m.
