DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's tennis swept Mary Baldwin Tuesday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.
Averett (9-3, 3-0 USA South) built a 3-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches which included two by default. The No. 1 doubles win came from senior
Stan Martherus and freshman
Jay Trip winning 8-0.
Martherus along with junior
Jorge Figueroa and sophomore
Aleki Gomez also picked up wins for the Cougars in singles action in straight sets.
The Cougars have won seven in a row and are back in action tomorrow when they host the University of Mount Olive at 2 p.m.
