TEMPE, Ariz. — The Averett University women's tennis team earned its first regional ranking in several decades as the Cougars were ranked No. 20 in the Atlantic South Region in the latest ITA rankings on May 5.
Averett went 14-5 overall and a perfect 9-0 in conference play on its way to winning the USA South Conference's East Division regular season championship for its first conference title of any kind in 22 years. The Cougars advanced all the way to the USA South Tournament finals before falling to Piedmont University, which was ranked No. 16 in the region.
