DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University men's soccer defeated Eastern Mennonite University 3-2 for its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference win on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium on Wednesday night.

Sebastian Weijdegaard scored his first goal of the season in the 49th minute to give Averett (3-5-3, 1-1-1 ODAC) a 2-1 lead.
In the 24th minute, Eastern Mennonite (1-5-3, 0-1-2 ODAC)struck first after Dallas Organek found the back of the net on a penalty kick to give his team a 1-0 lead.
The Royals had an own goal in the 37th minute, which tied the game up for the Cougars 1-1.
Eastern Mennonite had a second own goal in the 64th minute to push the Cougar lead to 3-1.
In the 85th minute, Kaden Schrock shot the ball past the keeper that reduced Averett's lead to 3-2.

The Cougars return to action when they travel to Ferrum College next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
