FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Averett University men's tennis team completed play at the three-day Methodist University Fall Invitational on Sunday.
The Cougars picked up final singles wins on the final day.
Sophomore
Shori Nishizoe lost his singles final, 6-2, 6-0, and freshman
Sam Egui also lost his final 6-2, 6-2.
Junior
Josh Bottrell won his singles match 6-1, 6-2. Meanwhile, junior
Aleki Gomez won his singles match 6-4, 6-2. Junior
Rufus Nurminen and freshman
Prabjeet Chandhok each won when their opponents retired. Junior
Philipp Bohnenkamp picked up a win — 6-1, 6-0 — over junior
Maksim Sukhomlinov in an all-Averett matchup.
