DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's soccer lost to Washington and Lee University 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.

Tyler Yates faced nine shots on goal and had five saves in the match.
In the 25th minute of the match, Washington and Lee (5-2-3, 3-1-0 ODAC) found the back of the net to lead Averett (5-2-3, 2-1-1 ODAC) 1-0. The Cougars held the Generals to a 1-0 lead until late in the second half, Washington and Lee scored twice more.
The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday when they host Randolph College at 5 p.m.
