WINCHESTER, Va.— Averett University men's soccer fell to Shenandoah University 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
In the 43rd minute of play, Averett (5-4-7, 2-3-4 ODAC) was down 2-0 until senior
Agustin Jaraba managed to find the back of the net.
Shenandoah (7-4-4, 4-2-3 ODAC)struck first, scoring in the 14th minute to lead the Cougars 1-0. The Hornets managed to score late in the first half to extend their lead to 2-0. Closing in on the 90th minute, Shenandoah tacked on one more goal to end the match.
Averett had 12 shots taken in the match, with five of them on target.
The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday when they host Roanoke College at 7 p.m. on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
