Men’s soccer falls to Bridgewater on late goal

BRIDGEWATER, Va.— Averett University men's soccer lost 1-0 to Bridgewater College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Senior goalkeeper Tyler Yates had five saves, facing 12 shots.

Averett (5-3-4, 2-2-2 ODAC) and Bridgewater (6-2-4, 2-2-2 ODAC) were scoreless up until the 83rd minute when John Meir found the back of the net following an assist from Zach Jarvis.

The Cougars had 11 shot attempts with five of them being on goal.

The Cougars are back in action on Oct. 11 when they face Virginia Wesleyan University at 6 p.m.
