DANVILLE, Va. — Graduate student
Elizabeth Peasley scored eight goals as Averett University women's lacrosse cruised to a 21-4 non-conference victory over Brevard College in the Cougars' home opener Saturday on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
Peasley moved into eighth all-time in NCAA Division III career goals with the output, giving her 327 for her career. She also added three assists for Averett (2-0).

Faith Bowlin accounted for two goals apiece as Averett jumped out to a 6-1 lead after one quarter. Peasley added four more goals in the second quarter as the Cougars took a 14-2 advantage over Brevard (1-4) into halftime.
Bowlin finished with four goals and two assists, while seniors
Morgan Dearing and
Raven Felder each scored a hat trick, with Dearing making two assists. Junior
Irenia Torre, sophomore Rache Rios and freshman
Amanda Antoine each chipped in a goal for Averett.
The Cougars also got a team-high five ground balls and four caused turnovers from sophomore
Kat Jay. Bowlin totaled five draw controls while Peasley had four.
Junior
Kaylee Joblon had five saves in goal in 45 minutes, while freshman
Caitlin Alperstein had a clean four quarter in between the pipes.
Averett returns to play on Tuesday at home against Bethany College at 2 p.m.
