LEXINGTON, Va. – Averett University men's tennis fell to No. 39 Washington and Lee University 7-2 on the road on Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Regionally-ranked 19th Averett (4-4, 2-1 ODAC) picked up a doubles win at the No. 2 slot. The regionally-ranked 10th duo of sophomore Shori Nishizoe and senior Jorge Figueroa defeated Eli Hirshberg and Will Kistler 8-6 over No. 39 Washington and Lee (12-4, 8-0 ODAC).
In singles play Figueroa topped Kistler at the No. 2 slot 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).
Averett is back in action tomorrow when it travels to Roanoke College at 1 p.m.
