DANVILLE, Va. - Averett University women's volleyball swept Virginia University of Lynchburg and Pfeiffer University 3-0 on Thursday night at home.
Averett (6-4, 1-0 ODAC) opened up the tri-match with a 25-11, 25-13 and 25-11 sweep over Virginia University of Lynchburg (0-5).Senior
Emma Nash led the offense with 10 kills while freshman
Sydney Mounce had seven. Sophomore
Dayton Moore had nine assists while fellow sophomore
Brenda Light had seven. As a team Averett hit .237.
In the second match of the day, the Cougars swept Pfeiffer (3-2, 0-1 USA South) 25-21, 25-13 and 25-16 to cap off the night. Junior
Kinsley Stevens had 14 assists in the match while senior
Erin Gray had nine digs. Senior
Destiny McIntosh had three of Averett's five blocks.
Averett is back in action next Tuesday when it travels to ODAC foe Randolph College at 7 p.m.
