CARY, N.C. - Averett University women's soccer topped William Peace University 3-2 on the road Tuesday night in comeback fashion.
William Peace (3-3-1) notched two goals in under 12 minutes of play to go op 2-0 over Averett (2-3-2).
Averett would respond to the Pacers second goal when it scored its first goal of the night in the 13th minute with sophomore
Isobel Evans goal assisted by junior
Celia de Diego. Neither team would score again for 48 minutes until senior
Maiju Hyvarinen scored the match's equalizing goal in the 61st minute of play with de Diego earning her second assist of the match.
The Cougars' game-winning goal came early in the 75th minute of play from de Diego's goal assisted by senior
Clarice Peters.

Tiffany Hargett came up with two critical second half saves, first in the 66th minute and again in the 80th minute to secure the win for Averett.
Averett is back in action again on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. on the road against Randolph College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
